News from Our Office
December 2001
- Periodontal Plastic Surgery was the topic of two half day courses given by Dr. Greenfield earlier this fall to visiting dentists from Taiwan and Germany. As a Harvard faculty member with expertise in this area, Dr. Greenfield is often asked to present these continuing education programs to visiting dentists from around the world.
Dr. Greenfield was an invited lecturer at the annual American Academy of Periodontology meeting in Philadelphia this past October. He along with a colleague, Dr. Mario Roccuzzo of Torino, Italy, addressed a distinguished group of periodontists from inside and outside the U.S. on the subject of tissue grafting. Although there were a multitude of educational opportunities for attendees at this annual session, the course given by Drs. Greenfield & Roccuzzo was sold out with over 150 periodontists in attendance.
The office staff continues to be a tight knit, cohesive team: Maureen has been on staff with Dr. Greenfield for more than 24 years, Sara more than 18, Ana more than 13, with the front desk duo of Debbie and Rosemary combining for more than 10 years. The entire office team focuses on perfecting a "patient friendly" environment to make the entire treatment process as smooth and comfortable as possible, while maintaining regular & efficient communications with all referring dentists.
At the end of January, 2002 dentists and allied dental staff from the entire New England region will gather once again at the Hynes Convention Center for the 27th Yankee Dental Congress. Among the speakers will be Dr. Greenfield presenting on the partnership between periodontics and esthetic dentistry. In addition to the scientific programming, there is an art show where members display their non-clinical talents. Several of Dr. Greenfield's black & white photographs will be on display at the show this year.
At the February, 2002 monthly meeting of the Harvard Odontological Society, Dr. Greenfield will be the guest speaker offering a slide program and narration based on his photographic essay Journey to Poland: a family mission. The original photographs have been exhibited in various cities such as Chapel Hill, NC, St. Louis, MO, and in Boston at the main branch of the Boston Public Library. The book version is now available at Amazon.com.
